Random Thoughts #22

Well, I'm at work and I'm pretty much done with my load. I think it's time for some Random Thoughts.

Grad School
Wait, why am I talking about grad school? Oh yeah...I'm done with it! YEAH!!!!!!!!! I finally got my degree a couple of weeks ago in the mail. Do I miss school? Nope, but I really need to find something to do which is not related to my new PS3.

Wow...I really don't use cash that much...
Today, I went into Dunkin' Donuts to get some donuts for the office. I was planning on using cash, but when the time to pay came, I immediately used my card. I guess that is the way of the future, ain't it? I'll admit that it's more easy to whip out the card and swipe it. The only drawback is that you might not know how much money you got in your account. Anyway, that was my day....pretty dull, right?

Women...
Uh...Well, there is this one-- Oh. On second thought, wait a little while.

Zero Hour
You know i had this epic intro for Zero Hour. I talked about how it was technically my first event crossover and about how it was a series that I really wanted to own. Then...I deleted the dang thing by accident. Crap. Now I have to try to write the thing again. Well, here I go again:

Random Thoughts #21

Well, I'm at work and there's nothing much to do. It's the week before Christmas after all. I think it's time for another episode of Random Thoughts.

Grad School
Not my best pic, but oh well.

Well, it's official. I am a Master of Science! It took over a year to do this venture, and Saturday was the day to get my degree...or some if it. I have to wait a month to get the actual degree. That sucks, but I had to wait a month before I got my actual B.A. Grad school had its good as well as its bad, but it was a great experience overall. I thank God for the chance to do something worthwhile and I thank Him for helping me in those stressful times. I also thank my parents for encouraging me and my teachers for giving me the chance to strut. I also met some cool people. Well, now what? Since this is over, what should I do now?

X-Men Month!

Yeah, it's coming back. Next month (or sometime later this month), I'm pretty much going to hit the rest of the X-stuff I didn't get to do last year. I'll hit the other stories I missed on, the other TV shows, that "Wolverine" movie, and a couple of surprises.

...................................................

Well, I guess it's time to get back to some work or something. Peace and God Bless.

Random Thoughts #20

Wow...this segment has been coming monthly for a long time...That's certainly better than most comic book series (Yes, I'm looking at you All-Star Batman!!!). Well, I'm in a hotel listening to some relatives talk about politics...I think it's time for a couple of random thoughts.

Grad School
Well, it's done. The paper topped out at about 3,700 words, 28 references, and three more gray hairs. Now, I'm in proofread mode. I gotta turn it in by tomorrow night, but I may turn it in tomorrow morning. instead. Here I am hoping and praying for at least a decent grade. After that, I have a group project and books to read.

Women...
....No comment.

"And now, a taste of things to come."
Yeah, I'm quoting Mortal Kombat. Well, it's time for something different and new. I don't know what yet, but it'll be something good. It could be something scifi. It could be music-related. It may even involve another group of mutants. The only difference about these guys is that they live in a sewer.

Well, I'm out. Peace and God Bless...and Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!

Random Thoughts #19

Well, since it was a productive day, I thought I might end it with a couple of random thoughts.

Superman Month(s)
Well, it's the end of SUperman Month. That was one heck of a long month! The whole battle was nuts. It actually took three months to do all of this since I started writing stuff in August. That being said, I'm happy with how it turned out. Will I ever do this again? Yeah, but it won't take two frakkin' months  to finish it! I do have one more Superman post to finish and then the month (or months) will be over. I am definitely going on a break after all of this...

Grad School
"Now the fun begins." I have officially started on my research paper for my capstone class. The paper is on security violations in the workplace. I have about 2 pages written and am hoping to be done this weekend. The whole paper isn't actually due till December, but our teacher wants to do an assessment on our paper to see if we're on the right track. Here's hoping I'm on the right track. I also have the other two classes do deal with, so I'm pretty busy. And then there's my full-time job...Dang, now all I need is a girlfriend and that'll fill the "BUSY" quota.

Movies
A while back I said I was going to give a brief review of all of the movies I saw this summer. Well, here it is:

  • The Avengers - As I said before, "'Nuff said." This movie was awesome!!!
  • The Dark Knight Rises - This was good. On how it stacks up against the other two, I have no clue yet.
  • Prometheus - This looked really interesting and started out well, but it got weird towards the middle and kept going on with the weirdness. I definitely think someone was right in naming this movie "Don't Touch That!"
  • The Expendables 2 - This...was pretty epic. All of my favorite action heroes were in it and it ruled.
  • Snow White and the Huntsman - Yes, I saw this. I saw it with a friend. It was okay. Hemsworth was awesome, Theron was wickedly evil, and Stewart was bland but cute (Did I just say that?).
  • Looper - The movie had a great premise and reminded me a lot of The Terminator. It does drag in the middle, but it picks back up towards the end.
Now, there were some movies I wanted to see but just didn't like ASM and MIB3. I'll probably talk about those later.

Women
...yeah, I got nothing to say tonight about them.

.........................................................................................

Well, I need sleep, so Peace and God Bless. Watch out for a somewhat detailed look at that thing JMS wrote about Superman two years ago.

Random Thoughts #18

Well, it's Sunday and I'm trying to relax a bit from last week. It's time for some random thoughts.

Grad School
Well, I'm about to start my last semester of grad school. I have three classes and they look challenging. One class involves a long research paper that's due at the end of November. Another class involves decision making with Excel. That's gonna be a little challenging, but I should do alright in all three classes. It shouldn't be too hard, especially with having a new job and all...oh yeah, I have a new job!

New Job
Monday, I started a new job. I'm now an Analyst at Yates Services. They're contracted by Nissan and it's not too far from Murfreesboro. It's pretty much between Nashville and the Boro. Right now, I'm trying to fix some Access databases that they have had for a while. I know another task I will have will be being the support for the time attendance software called Novatime. The whole job looks challenging, but I can do it. I know who I can turn to for help.

Surgery
Yeah, the title is unfortunately right. A couple of weeks ago my side was hurting badly ,so I went to the emergency room. It turns out I have gall stones in my bladder. Friday, I'll be getting outpatient surgery to remove my gall bladder. Prayers for a quick recovery and no complications are wanted. I'm not too worried  about the whole thing though. I just want it over with. I know this week I'll be trying to get done certain assignments because I know I may not want do to much over the weekend.

Superman Month
Well, its that month again. This month is going to be a bit different. Here's the link to my intro for the Battle of the Super-Origins. I'm also going to post a few other things for the month. I actually have a lot of the Battle done and ready. The themed month still  might go into October since I have a job and I'm a grad student. I also work part-time for Zordon when Alpha 5 gets all messed up on malware...Yeah, I'm kidding about that.  Still, that would be cool.

Zordon: Alpha! What are you viewing on the viewing globe?
Alpha 5: I do not know. I do know it is frying my circuits!

........................

Well, I'm outta here. I gotta get some things posted and read. Peace and God Bless.

Random Thoughts #17

Well, it's Wednesday, I have an interview tomorrow, and I am bored off my butt. I think I got a couple or random thoughts to dish out.

Grad school
Summer school is finally over. Now, I just have three weeks of relaxation...dang, that sounds wrong. Oh well...I did pretty good with my classes except for the first one. I made a C. Ouch. At least it was one of those "Miracle of God" C's. My other class went better. I made an A and it even  made me get productive in this idea I've had for a long time: a library system for my stuff (movies, books, games, and comics). It's coming together pretty well. I have three more classes in the Fall and then I'm done.

Jobs
I recently had an interview for this company called Yates Services. The job looks interesting, I'll give it that. I haven't heard anything yet though. I also have an interview tomorrow at this company in Lebanon. I don't know how all of this stuff will work out, but I do know someone who does know, so I'll be going to Him for guidance in whatever happens.

Women
I think it's finally time to look for one of those. (lol)

A Break
Yes, I'm taking a break from this blog. I think I need it especially since I have something special planned for September. My plan is to look at the recent rebooted origins of Superman (Birthright, MoS, Secret Origin, and New 52) and see which origin is the best. It's actually an idea that I have had mulling around in my mind for the past few months. It's also a question that I myself want to find the answer to. during the month, I plan to read the four origins (I haven't read Secret Origin yet) and I  will post the results of my "analysis" in September.
.................................

"So, it's been a lot of fun, but...well...I guess that all!!"...for now.

Oh yeah, Trigun is awesome!!!!

Random Thoughts #16

Well, it's 1:22 PM (and all's well!!!!)  and I'm at home trying to relax before I have to head back to Nashville. It looks like it's time for a couple of random thoughts.

I hate overdrafts...
'Nuff said.

Grad School
Next week I'll be starting another class. Luckily, this class only lasts for four weeks. From what I've heard, it's based around Microsoft Access. So, it looks like I'll be retreading some old ground  again this time. Oh yeah, I made a C in my Database Programming class....yay? That class was pretty tough and gruelling. Still, I'm glad I took it because I have some new skills with SQL now. Yeah, they still need growing, but this looks like something I'll be using in future jobs God willing.

Movies
Well, I've seen three movies since May. I still have a couple more to see like Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises. I'll post my thoughts on the movies I have seen at the end of the summer movie season. Out of all of them, my favorite has definitely been The Avengers. It's definitely on my top list of great comic book movies. The worst or least favorite involves a "Big Frickin' Facehugger".

Women
...Yeah, just putting this here. No reason yet.

................................
That's all I got today. I'm still in Spider-Bat (or Bat-Spider) Month, so I'll still be posting things. I got some  more TV shows coming up, two movie franchises, and two GNs. After July, I'm taking a break. It's mostly because I'll be planning something for September. What is it? This pic should give a hint.

Random Thoughts #15

Well, I'm trying to prepare for a test overANSI SQL that's Wednesday, and it looks like rain is coming. Plus, I need a break from all of that SQL-ing (?). I think it's time for a couple random thoughts.

SQL Rocks....sort of...
Well, it's about week 4 into this class and it's moving along. We started out with the basics and moved on to the more complex stuff. Right now, I'm at that complex stuff, hence this little break. SQL, like all languages, is something that takes a lot of time to get. When you don't get it , it ticks you off a bit. When you finally get the order results, you feel like jumping for joy and bowing towards God saying "THANK YOU!!!!" For studying, I'll be going through the practice problems again without looking at my notes to see if any of this stuff has latched on. Some prayer would be appreciated.

...ARGH.
This week, something happened that should not have happened. Apparently, some A$$ got in my car an took a bag of mine. Some work shorts, a couple of cool shirts, a movie, and MY PS3 were in that bag. I'm still ticked off about that. What's weird is that I'm more ticked off about  the other stuff than my PS3. It's kinda my fault because I left the bag out there and a door was unlocked. I got off work late and I just left it in there.  I have left stuff out before, but this time I got bit in the butt and I'm still hurting. Moral: don't leave anything in your car in Nashville. Ever.

Spider-Bat Month-ish!!!

This month will be the start of Spider-Bat Month and it will end in July. Both movies are coming out around the same time and these characters up there in my favorite list.  Unlike Superman Month and X-Men month, it's going to go a little different. Instead of looking at a lot of comics, I'll look at some of the TV shows that featured these characters. The reason is simple: I came to know about these characters through television and movies. Unlike with Superman and the X-Men, I didn't own many Spider-Man comics (about 4 or 5) or Batman comics (...none). It's only recently in the last year-ish where I started to get things with these characters like Ultimate Spider-Man and  New 52 Batman. I think I know why. I had seen so much of these characters throughout movies and TV I think that I wasn't too interested in the characters comic book-wise. Now, I  still will look at a couple of issues and trades. Which ones? Find out ...someday! I may even look at this....(lol).

Cue funky guitar and sax music!!!

......................

Well, back to the "coolness" of SQL.

Random Thoughts #14

Well, I'm in the city (for once), I'm burning up, and I'm looking at a pile of cheap comics I got today. I think it's time for some random thoughts.

Random Thoughts #12

Well, it's night and I'm procrastinating on paperwork as well as watching some Miami Vice. It's time for a couple of random thoughts.....oh yeah, "All Night Long" by Lionel Richie?

Random Thoughts #11

Well, it's Friday morning, clothes are a-washin', and I have a lot of stuff to do this weekend. It's time for some random thoughts.

Random Thoughts #7

Well, it's a Saturday night in Pulaski (brr!), and I have a presentation and two papers to work on. I think it's time for random thoughts before I get into those things.

Grad School
Well, grad school has been going well for me. From what I can tell, I'm doing okay. As I said, I have a presentation to perfect and two papers, wit one being a re-submit 'cause that unfortunately happens and one that shouldn't be too hard. My presentation is pretty much gonna be on how to manage your stakeholders in an IT (or IS) project. Here's hoping it turns out well. It also looks like I may be taking 9 hours next semester. Since two of the classes I have to take are both scheduled to my liking, I'll be taking those two on  Thursdays and on the other back on Monday. It should be interesting.

Women
Yes, this topic is back. Let's see...women. That's all.  ):|

Frank Miller...
I just read this little article on BleedingCool about Frank Miller's thoughts on Occupy _____. All I can say is "Wow." Now, I really have no thoughts on the Occupy thing. I have my own "occupying" I need to get to. Anyway, that's pretty much all I have to say on that topic. There are three things I have a hard time talking about: Politics, religion, and love. I'd rather listen to someone talk about them rather than I talk about them.

 .....................
So what will I be doing next? It looks like I'll be doing two GNs from the 80's (again). One is controversial, while the other is the aftermath of something controversial. Then, maybe I'll get to the next two issues of Suicide Squad.

Well, I'm out and about to start on these important things for school. I will now leave you all with someone I may or may not talk about in the future:

Bruce Lee vs. the rejects from The Karate Kid. I think Lee may win this bout.

Random Thoughts #6

Well, I'm bored. It's time for some Random Thoughts.

...
I actually don't know what to say today. I was going to post one of these at the end of September, but since school is taking up all of my time (and there's the fact that I had nothing to say), I decided to wait. Not too much is going on these days. It's just school and work. I have two presentations I have to prepare for: One 20 minutes long (by myself ...) and one about 5 to 10  minutes long. Shouldn't be too difficult. Let's see...what else? I think I'm getting tired of the single life...'bout time. I'm also trying to figure out what else to do with this blog. The post from earlier is an example. I want keep it as 'random' as I can and not have it be just all about one thing.

Right now, I'm on sabbatical (or something like that) fro the Graphic Novels section. Superman Month wiped me out and with all of the school stuff coming up soon, I won't be able to just sit down and type a lot of words on a graphic novel. It actually takes a lot of time to do that. So, it looks like I'll just do two a month for a while. Well, I'm actually out of things to say, so I'm out.

Random Thoughts #5

Well, it looks like I may be here a while in the GA room at MTSU. To know how that happened, read on.

Random Thoughts #4

Well, it looks like it's time for some random thoughts. I'm pretty much ready for work, and I'm bored as well.

Random Thoughts #3

Well, I'm at the house and not sleepy yet, so I thought I might as well type a little.

Some More Randomness

Well, I'm at the library by Metro Center listening to some "Confessions" by Usher. Not bad...and now it's time for some random thoughts.

Well it had to happen eventually...
Yesterday, I went to The Great Escape (awesome place by the way) in West Nashville and got the first issue to Fear Itself. This is the first recent comic I've gotten in about a year. Yeah. After Blackest Night, I just decided I would stick with not so recent stuff for a while, and it's worked. probably the most random series I've gotten during this time is Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn 2. I just felt like it for a reason. It's actually pretty good ( may even talk about it). I may even get Emerald Dawn if I can find it. Anyway, the first issue to Fear Itself was interesting. I've kept up with some of Marvel (dang prices), so I kinda know of what's going on. I just hope the event doesn't let me down.

Some Random Stuff

Well, here I am again, back to post something. I'm just gonna throw some random stuff up. It's stuff that I pretty much about throughout the day.

Samuel Jackson as Captain America
I was at Johnson's food store today, and I began to wonder how SLJ would be as Captain America. He wouldn't be the 616 Cap, or the Ultimate Cap. He'd be the the ultimate, strong, and last but not least CRAZY version of Captain America. I would definitely see that movie

Here are a couple of quotes I would like to hear. Warning: they have been edited since...well, I don't cuss much.

"AND YOU WILL KNOW THAT I AM THE SYMBOL OF AMERICA WHEN I LAY THIS SHIELD UPSIDE YO' BUTT!!"

"WHAT YOU THINK THIS 'A' STAND FO'? FRANCE? NO! THIS STANDS FOR THE U.S. OF A, SUCKA!!!!"

Okay, enough of that
