Random Video of the Week - Daredevil video

Here's the recent buzz on the new Daredevil movie by Fox: it ain't happening. You can read more about all that stuff here. The video I'm about to link is what recently-hired director Joe Carnahan showed to the bigwigs at Fox.  It's basically a sizzle reel that shows clips from the 70's and the Daredevil comics and movie. I have to say it was GOOD. If they ever make a TV show or a movie that's based like this, I'm all in for it.

Here's hoping that Marvel can do something with the character. I do like the 2003 movie but it's not my favorite. I actually have the Director's Cut which has been said to be better than the theatrical version....Ive had the DC for a while and I still haven't watched it yet. I just may watch it this weekend.

Here's the video:

Random Video of the Week: Watcher of the Skies by Genesis

I guess while I'm off in origin-land, I guess I can post some random stuff. For some reason, I have been looking at the Peter Gabriel-era of Genesis (Yes, Genesis.). It was  acutally pretty good. The music was sweet. Phil Collins was just on drums and sounding awesome. On the other hand, Peter Gabriel (lead singer at the time) was good, but...well...look at this and see what I'm talking about. I like the song by the way.

Some random tidbits:

  • Yes, that's Gabriel, not Dracula...I think anyway. I have to admit that the 70's were weird.
  • No, this isn't Phantom of the Opera though that beginning makes it feel like this is.
  • Phil Collins has hair and lots of it!
  • I can't explain the ending...I don't think anyone can.

Random Pics of the Month - August

Before I start my break from this place, here are three pics that have are a teaser for later...

Well, it's official...Deathstroke has the title for "Worst Surrogate Father" as well as the "Worst Father" award.

Heat vision usually has three uses: Offense, Intimidation, and Shaving. Guess which one goes into "El Diablo!!!!" territory.

I found these laying around the house, so I did this. I think they're still stuck in this position.

Random Thoughts #17

Well, it's Wednesday, I have an interview tomorrow, and I am bored off my butt. I think I got a couple or random thoughts to dish out.

Grad school
Summer school is finally over. Now, I just have three weeks of relaxation...dang, that sounds wrong. Oh well...I did pretty good with my classes except for the first one. I made a C. Ouch. At least it was one of those "Miracle of God" C's. My other class went better. I made an A and it even  made me get productive in this idea I've had for a long time: a library system for my stuff (movies, books, games, and comics). It's coming together pretty well. I have three more classes in the Fall and then I'm done.

Jobs
I recently had an interview for this company called Yates Services. The job looks interesting, I'll give it that. I haven't heard anything yet though. I also have an interview tomorrow at this company in Lebanon. I don't know how all of this stuff will work out, but I do know someone who does know, so I'll be going to Him for guidance in whatever happens.

Women
I think it's finally time to look for one of those. (lol)

A Break
Yes, I'm taking a break from this blog. I think I need it especially since I have something special planned for September. My plan is to look at the recent rebooted origins of Superman (Birthright, MoS, Secret Origin, and New 52) and see which origin is the best. It's actually an idea that I have had mulling around in my mind for the past few months. It's also a question that I myself want to find the answer to. during the month, I plan to read the four origins (I haven't read Secret Origin yet) and I  will post the results of my "analysis" in September.
.................................

"So, it's been a lot of fun, but...well...I guess that all!!"...for now.

Oh yeah, Trigun is awesome!!!!

Movie Talk - The Nolan Batman Franchise

All this poster needs is Michael Jackson in the middle of the two and a boombox playing "Beat It".

Well, it's time for that post that will end Spider-Bat Month. I'm holding off the Spidey movies for a while. I haven't seen them. I'm also holding off the other Batman shows because I really don't have much to say about them. The Batman was okay for what it was.  and Batman: The Brave and the Bold was good. That show was more of a DC show than a Batman show though. Yeah, Batman was the main star, but it was the guest stars who made the show interesting.

And finally, it's time to talk about the guy.... What, are you dense? Are you stupid or something? Who the heck do you think I am talking about? I'm talking about Nolan's Batman, suckas!!!

And yes, I just G-rated the infamous quote from All-Star Batman. Thank you, thank you.

Background
I did not know what to think when I first heard that a new Batman movie was coming out back in '05. After that last franchise, I think no one knew what to expect. I had never heard of Chris Nolan or Christian Bale. I ended up seeing both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight at the KUC on MTSU's campus. The KUC shows movies that are close to coming out on DVD. Then there's The Dark Knight Rises. I just saw that at Pulaski's theatre The Martin. Yes, we have a theater and it's about time.  What did I think about the three? Find out below:
