Tales From the 50 Cent Bin! - WildC.A.T.s #1

Welcome back to "Tales From the 50 Cent Bin!" This time is a little different though in that I just bought this issue on FCBD. I bought it with a bunch of other issues (mostly Superman ones) and thought that this issue would fit well here. For those who don't know, the WildC.A.T.s (I'm just gonna call them the CATs from now on) was a super hero team created in the 90's at Image Comics. You know, the guys responsible for things like this, this, and THIS? Yep, those guys. Anyway, apparently this team was "sooooo popular" that they actually had a Saturday morning cartoon on CBS for a while. I watched it. It....was...."meh" I guess .I hate to admit this, but...I actually own four episodes of this show on VHS.  I know I compared them to the X-Men which is weird because Jim Lee, artist/writer of this issue, drew the X-Men for a time. So with that intro out of the way, let's see if this book is really "That Good".

We start out the issue in 1980 in Antarctica where some scientists are getting some strange readings. As they wonder what the heck is going on in this cold terrain, an orb pops up. Suddenly, a woman dressed in a really tight and bright swimsuit appears and tries to grab the orb. She ends up disappearing and leaving the scientists stumped.

Weird Star Trek Eps. - The Enemy Within aka "I'M CAPTAIN KIRK!!!"

And here is another thing I haven't done in a long time: Weird Star Trek Eps. The one I'm talking about today is "The Enemy Within". This is the one where there is a transporter malfunction and two Captain kirks (one good and one EVILLL!!!) emerge. It's not that bad of an episode, but it is weird. The moments of the episode is EVIL Capt. Kirk. He's just so bad! Also, being EVIL lessens your acting ability by about 20 on a scale from 1 to 50. Here's an example:



I'd link it, but CBS is a little ANAL about their things being put on the Internet. So, you can find it through TV (if they show it), Netflix, or maybe CBS's website (I think they took all of those episodes down, but they have clips).

In closing....well, "I'm Captain Kirk!!!!!!!

...on second thought, maybe not.

Favorite Songs - Genesis/Phil Collins (!!!)

Wow, I haven't done this in a long while and yes, that is Genesis and Phil Collins in the the title. Why do I like that music? One sentence will do:

"THANKS MIXED 92.9 FM IN NASHVILLE!!! ARRGH!"

In all seriousness, I do like me some Genesis from time to time. I actually had a  bought cassette of their album "Invisible Touch" a few years back. I lost it unfortunately. Anyway, I'm also including some of Phil's stuff here as well because...heck I can. Plus, I haven't heard of anything from Genesis pre-Phil Collins, so there. For this, I'm extending the list to twelve as well. 

TV Talk - Gargoyles

So, as you can tell by the title, this one is a little different in that it's not part of some themed month. It's pretty much off the cuff. For those who don't know, Gargoyles was a show done by Disney in the mid-90s. The show is most remembered for being a lot like another show from the 90's called Batman: TAS. Was this show any good? Well, I'm in the city (for once), I'm burning up, and I'm looking at a pile of cheap comics I got today. I think it's time for some random thoughts.
