Battle of the Super-Origins: Supporting Superheroes
Today’s post will stay within the spirit of the week and
concentrate on the other superheroes that showed up in these origins. Yeah, I know that Birthright had no other heroes, but still...it's my show! So, let’s
start off with that one hero who everyone loves for some reason: The Rick
James-Slappin’ Batman!

Battle of the Super-Origins: Krypton
In today’s post, I will look at the other side of Superman’s
heritage: the Kryptonian side. Unlike last time where I only looked at the
Kents, I will also look at the world of Krypton as well as the Els. The overall
story is pretty much the same in all four incarnations. Krypton is about to
blow up, so Jor-El sends his only son into space to a planet where he will be
safe. Are there differences? Oh Yes.

Random Pics of the Month - September
To stay within the themed month, here are some images from the four books I'm looking at. These are images from the books that not only look distracting. Some of these just look off.
Lois! I think we're in the wrong book! Superman's got that dang collar!
If there is one thing that is constant in this origin, it's that Lex ALWAYS looks evil even when he's a kid
Clark: What happened to me? What happened to you? Did you use that race-changing machine again?
And of course, there's this "gem"...
Weeeeee!!!!!!! I'm high suckas!

Best Superman Fights
For this post, I'll be going over my favorite Superman fights. Like last year's post, it doesn't matter which medium they're in. Movies, TV, comics, you name it.
10. Superman vs. Draaga (Superman: Exile)
I'm not talking about the fight from Justice League, I'm talking about the fight from the "Exile" storyline. We see Superman being forced to participate in Mongul's gladiator matches. The last combatant is Draaga, the current champion. It's an even fight and Superman gives in to his inner "Conan" to kick some butt.

One wonders if he will pillage villages and laminate women after this incident.

Battle of the Super-Origins: Lex Luthor
Today, I’ll be looking the four versions of Lex Luthor in
these origins. He’s considered to be Superman’s greatest enemy as well as a
cool enemy himself. He’s “so bad”! He appears in all four origin stories though
the one he least appears in is MoS. I’ll start out with some basic information
on each one and then I’ll do a comparison/decision.

Battle of the Super-Origins: Intro
Well, here I go...
A few months ago, an idea popped into my mind: What is the greatest recent Superman origin that was or is in continuity? I actually kind of wanted to know mostly because there have been so many of them in recent decades. As Superman fans well know, Kal-El has had his origins told over and over again. In this millennium, we’ve have had three different (technically four) origins in the comics. Characters like Batman and Spider-Man have had one origin that have stuck for a long time. The same goes for a lot of comic characters…except Wonder Woman of course. I don’t know why that is. I understand that stuff has to change over time, but 3 reboots in the last decade? That’s a bit much.

Random Thoughts #18
Well, it's Sunday and I'm trying to relax a bit from last week. It's time for some random thoughts.
Grad School
Well, I'm about to start my last semester of grad school. I have three classes and they look challenging. One class involves a long research paper that's due at the end of November. Another class involves decision making with Excel. That's gonna be a little challenging, but I should do alright in all three classes. It shouldn't be too hard, especially with having a new job and all...oh yeah, I have a new job!
New Job
Monday, I started a new job. I'm now an Analyst at Yates Services. They're contracted by Nissan and it's not too far from Murfreesboro. It's pretty much between Nashville and the Boro. Right now, I'm trying to fix some Access databases that they have had for a while. I know another task I will have will be being the support for the time attendance software called Novatime. The whole job looks challenging, but I can do it. I know who I can turn to for help.
Surgery
Yeah, the title is unfortunately right. A couple of weeks ago my side was hurting badly ,so I went to the emergency room. It turns out I have gall stones in my bladder. Friday, I'll be getting outpatient surgery to remove my gall bladder. Prayers for a quick recovery and no complications are wanted. I'm not too worried about the whole thing though. I just want it over with. I know this week I'll be trying to get done certain assignments because I know I may not want do to much over the weekend.
Superman Month
Well, its that month again. This month is going to be a bit different. Here's the link to my intro for the Battle of the Super-Origins. I'm also going to post a few other things for the month. I actually have a lot of the Battle done and ready. The themed month still might go into October since I have a job and I'm a grad student. I also work part-time for Zordon when Alpha 5 gets all messed up on malware...Yeah, I'm kidding about that. Still, that would be cool.

Zordon: Alpha! What are you viewing on the viewing globe?
Alpha 5: I do not know. I do know it is frying my circuits!
........................
Well, I'm outta here. I gotta get some things posted and read. Peace and God Bless.
